Hi, I’m Molly heacock.

I am a wife, mother, public health practitioner, writer, and birth doula. There are so many experiences and facets to who I am, and I know that to be the case for you as well. The beautiful thing about people is that we are all multifaceted and nuanced, and I am passionate about providing multifaceted, nuanced care.

Since 2013 I have been working in global public health, primarily in East Africa. I have a Masters in Public Health Practice and my focus has been specific to HIV/AIDS. My husband and I were living in Nairobi, Kenya when I became pregnant with our son in 2020.

My Approach

You are a whole, complex person and birth is a whole, complex experience. Birth is not simply a physical experience- it is mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual, and I believe you deserve mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual throughout the experience.

prenatal

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

birth

As a birth doula, I commit to being by your side continuously through your entire birth experience. Depending on your personal preferences and birth goals, I can provide physical comfort measures, emotional support, and spiritual guidance.

postpartum

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Birth support for all

No matter your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or citizenship status, I want to support you in your birth journey. If you are looking for a doula and prefer to have culturally congruent care, please contact me and I can help you find the right doula for you!

Lastly, money should never be a barrier to birth support. I am committed to providing doula services free of charge to anyone who needs it. Clients who do pay a fee can be assured that their payment helps cover materials and time for women in need of subsidized or free birth support. Also, 10% of all payments are donated to Every Mother Counts, an organization that is committed to ending maternal death around the world by providing access to quality, respectful, and equitable healthcare.
